Getting to Know Senate Bill 50

Friday, February 8th, 2013

I’ll bet some of you have heard enough about industrial hemp by now. Others might be yearning for more information.

For the curious and for supporters of an effort to make sure Kentucky legislators know as much as possible about the growth of the hemp plant, the difference between hemp and marijuana, and the economic viability for developing a hemp industry in the Commonwealth, you’ll have an opportunity for that in a few days.

Sunday on ‘One to One,’  Ag Commissioner James Comer will make his case once again.

And, on Monday, Feb. 11th, Comer and several members of Kentucky’s congressional delegation will be on hand to present their case before a legislative committee. Our coverage will be included in Renee Shaw’s “Legislative Update” report on that Monday evening at 11 ET.

On ‘One to One’ Sunday and Tuesday, Comer discusses the contents of Senate Bill 50, the economic impact industrial hemp could have if it legalized, and the bipartisan support the legislation has received:

Comer also explains the regulations hemp farmers would have to follow and how they will help law enforcement to monitor industrial hemp growth in the state.

One to One airs Sunday at 1 pm ET on KET.
