Great guests on One to One

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

Recently, I had an interesting conversation with Jonathan Miller for One to One; tune in this Sunday, April 3 at 1 p.m./noon CT.

Miller, the Secretary of the Finance and Administration Cabinet under Governor Steve Beshear, has left state government and will join the private sector. He’ll be practicing law and has a start-up blog called The Recovering Politician. Jonathan served two terms as State Treasurer and worked in Washington a few years before coming back to Kentucky to raise a family. He has recruited a number of other former politicians to write for his blog. You can find it at

This week I’ll be talking with two of America’s best known authors for a couple of upcoming One to One programs:

  • *Andre Dubus III who wrote The House of Sand and Fog, a national bestseller and movie. Townie is Dubus’s new memoir which is at number four on the New York Times nonfiction list.
  • *Rita Mae Brown who is wildly popular around the world — her mystery series are always best sellers.

Both Brown and Dubus are in Kentucky for the Lexington Public Library’s Night of Literary Feasts. Patrons of the library will have an opportunity to have dinner with their favorite author. There are 11 authors, including Kentuckians Ed McClanahan, Jon Carloftis, and Neil Chethik. I’ll be attending and will give you an update in an upcoming blog post.
