Appalachian Student Voice Team at KET Media Lab

Friday, September 2nd, 2016 by Jeff Gray, KET

Cynthia Warner, KET Education Consultant for SE KY, demonstrates video technique.

Glenn Baker, Owsley County Public School’s Community Education Director, brought students from the Appalachian Student Voice Team to Lexington for a visit to KET. Cynthia Warner, Education Consultant for Southeast Kentucky, gave a workshop in Basic Video Production to the attentive group. Following the workshop, the students ate pizza in the KET Visitor Center and then took a tour of KET’s multimedia production and broadcast facility.

School districts represented by students and teachers during the Appalachian Student Voice Team’s visit to KET included Owsley County (Glenn Baker); Lee County (Pam Cornelius); Bath County (Kelly Wilson); Estill County (Teresa Dawes); and Wolfe County (Wendy Pelfrey).

We look forward to seeing multimedia projects from the eager and enthusiastic Appalachian Student Voice Team.

If you’d like to bring public, private, or homeschool students to KET for a free
