Thursday, January 24th, 2013 by bspellman

Join student reporters as they uncover the history, art and architecture that define America’s living symbol of democracy and freedom. Enjoy special behind-the-scenes access as students explore the famous Rotunda and its historical paintings; dig into the archives to discover the history of the Capitol building; and learn more about the legislative branch of our federal government housed in this storied building.

Alabama Public Television proudly announces the production of a new live, electronic field trip entitled “OUR NATION’S CAPITOL”!  It will be delivered via the Internet on February 13, 2013 from 1:00-2:00 pm EST as a live stream ONLY. This program is FREE to all educators throughout the United States.

Registration is required and completion of registration enables access to the live event and immediate access to a wealth of online classroom resources and teaching tools to enhance the learning process.  As a “bonus,” registrants will be able to access the archived electronic field trip “Exploring Mount Vernon” with new and enhanced educational materials.

The registration link is provided in this flyer which we encourage you to distribute to educators through e-mail, newsletters, your station’s website, Facebook, Twitter or other forms of communication you may have with your schools.
