Discovery Education has free webinars!

Discovery Education has wonderful FREE webinars!  In some cases, they are intended for students and teachers, like the engaging and informative one I participated in today hosted by Phillipe Cousteau and two other experts on food sources and sustainable living. Other Discovery Education webinars are for professional development and are about topics like using mobile devices in the classroom and other current issues. One topic is Discovery Education itself.  For example, there is one from 7pm to 8pm on February 1 entitled “An Overview of Discovery Streaming.” This would be a great way for teachers to brush up on the service if they haven’t used it in a while.  Here is the whole description:

“Get back to the basics of Discovery Education STREAMING! This webinar will explore the myriad of curriculum resources and time-saving features found in Discovery Education STREAMING. Already used by over 50% of US schools, the Discovery Education STREAMING library offers more than 100,000 learning objects aligned to both state and Common Core standards including: 55,000+ video segments; 25,000+ images; and thousands of encyclopedia articles, songs and hard-to-find speeches. Our webinar begins with the basics and moves through searches, the teacher center, and other resources.”

It is very easy to sign up!  Here is the link to register for the webinar described above and here is a link to the whole DE webinar calendar.
