Mariachi High spends a year in the life of the champion mariachi ensemble of Zapata High School on the Rio Grande in south Texas.

From nerve-racking band auditions to the thrill of the 2010 Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza in San Antonio, graduation and beyond, Mariachi High explores the lives of teens who are inspired by cultural pride and striving for excellence.

Mariachi High airs Friday, June 29 at 10/9 pm CT on KET.
