KET wraps up season five
Thursday, June 7, 2012
We want to update our Doc Martin fans (and there are a lot of you!) on the status of season six.
The most recent new season of Doc Martin (season five) only had eight episodes, and it concluded at the end of May. KET is currently airing episodes from the first two seasons before the broadcast rights to those programs expire at the end of June.
Doc Martin isn’t a PBS program and must be purchased from British television. Viewer support of KET is crucial in allowing us the ability to purchase Doc Martin and other British programming.
Whereas most U.S. programs produce 20–26 episodes each year for broadcast, Doc Martin only produces 8 programs every two years.
Plans are in place to produce a sixth season of Doc Martin, but most likely it won’t be available to American audiences until late 2013.
In the meantime, enjoy re-airings of seasons one and two this summer, and we’ll keep you posted!
