The show about Kentucky’s treasures returns for second season

KET’s Kentucky Collectibles, hosted by Dave Shuffett and Amy Hess, premieres its second season of sharing Kentucky’s culture through the stories of Kentuckians and their prized possessions. Throughout the season, the hosts will also make trips to explore the world of antiques and collectibles.
Kentucky Collectibles premieres Sunday, Oct. 20 at 3:30/2:30 p.m. on KET and Monday Oct. 21 at 9/8 p.m. on KET2.
In the season premiere, expert appraisers examine treasures including folk art phonograph dancers, a Tiffany Kentucky racing trophy and a book with a connection to one of Kentucky’s beloved historians.

New to this season are “how to” features with experts from the well-known Garth’s Auctions in Delaware, Ohio. These segments, targeted to both new collectors and those with years of experience, will focus on getting started in antique collecting, properly storing items, the effect the Internet has had on collecting, some dangers of buying items online, what’s trendy right now, and more.
This season also includes a look at items from the Kentucky State Treasury’s unclaimed property division and an exploration of the unbelievable guitar collection of Kentucky HeadHunters member Greg Martin.
