KET is accepting submissions for 2013 Young Writers Contest

Friday, Feb. 15, 2013

Young Writers Contest | KET imageKET is now accepting submissions for the 2013 KET Young Writers contest, a statewide competition designed to promote the advancement of children’s reading skills through hands-on, active learning. The effort encourages Kentucky’s students in kindergarten through fifth grade to celebrate the power of creating stories and illustrations by submitting their own original work.

KET will select winners at each grade level and award prizes. The first-place stories in each grade level will be published online. The 2013 contest continues through April 13.

To enter, kids must submit an original story with at least four original and colorful illustrations. Children who cannot write may dictate their story to a helpful grownup. The length of the stories varies by grade level. Complete rules and the contest entry form are available at ket.org/writerscontest.
